WMSU Recognition Day Guest Speaker-Atty. Anna Marie Mae R. Guerra Dela Vega
Atty. Anna Marie Mae Guerra-Dela Vega, a graduate of the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU)-College of Law is anticipated to deliver an inspirational message during the University Recognition Day on March 21 at the WMSU’s Dr. Juanito Bruno Gymnasium.
Having finished her undergraduate education also in the said university, Atty. Guerra-Dela Vega is noteworthy to speak before graduating students who will be receiving distinctions for non-academic awards and other commendations. In addition, it is also laudable to mention that Atty. Guerra-Dela Vega graduated from WMSU as a Cum Laude with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (2000) and proceeded to Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering the following year (2001) also finishing it as a Cum Laude. She acquired her law degree in 2006 in the university’s law school and passed the Philippine Bar Examinations in 2007.
Aside from her impressive academic distinctions, she was also a well-rounded college student having been the Editor-in-Chief of The University Digest (2000-2001) and as an officer of the University Student Government (1999-2000). Her impressive service as a campus journalist and as a student leader earned her commendations for the University Journalism Award (2000), Distinguished Award on Journalism (2001) and University Leadership Award (2000).
Furthermore, over and above her impeccable performance in academics and extra-curricular activities, Guerra-Dela Vega was also a beauty pageant title holder. She was crowned as Ms. WMSU in 1999 and Mutya ng Mindanao also in the same year.
On top of her already mentioned attributes, she was also recognized by different organization such as the Philippine Jaycees, according her the Philippine Jaycees Youth Excellence Award (1996) and was a recipient of the Soroptimist International Youth Citizenship Award for Region IX (1995) from the Soroptimist International.
Atty. Guerra-Dela Vega in the early part of her career served as a visiting lecturer in the university’s College of Engineering and Technology; a stint as a Science Research Specialist in Seaoil Philippines, Inc. and subsequently as a Corporate Lawyer also in the same agency.
